We will meet you at the airport of Irkutsk and deliver to a secluded recreation center on the shore of Lake Baikal. After the flight, you will have rest in the house made of the Siberian larch, where Dmitry Medvedev and Patriarch Theodore II stayed. You will have dinner in the fireplace hall with a glass of red wine.
The recreation center of Russian Railways is located 130 kilometers from Irkutsk, in the territory of the Baikal National Park, 5 meters from the shore of Lake Baikal. It was built in an isolated place and designed to receive high-ranking guests. Patriarch Theodore II, Dmitry Medvedev, Vladimir Yakunin rested here. In the territory of the center there is a branch of the Circum-Baikal Railway.
The recreation center of Russian Railways consists of two separate complexes. The first includes: a pier, a two-storey banya, a veranda for banquets, a main building with rooms, a dining room and a fireplace hall, a tennis court, an open heated pool with Baikal water, two observation platforms. The capacity of the complex is 20 people.
The second complex is located 700 meters — 10 minutes walk along the shore. In 2017 on its territory several additional residential buildings were built. Double and triple rooms are available. The total capacity is 30 people.
The Circum-Baikal Railway is one of the most expensive railways in the world. On average, one engineering structure is built for each hundred meters. The CBR is called the “Golden buckle of the steel belt of Russia”.
An interesting area is 84 km long, on the western coast of Lake Baikal. Here the greatest number of monuments of engineering art is concentrated: 470 bridges, 280 retaining walls and 39 tunnels. You will watch it from the water, you can make stops and land on the shore if you wish.
Spa treatments, a bath attendant, massage therapists and a beautician are available the whole day for you. You can do yoga, go fishing and ride a jet ski. In the center for you there is an open swimming pool with warm Baikal water, tasting of tea, honey and wine. A famous Irkutsk chef will cook for you.
The territory of the center is divided into four zones. Each zone has separate procedures and entertainment. In the morning on the terrace with panoramic views of Lake Baikal practice yoga and breathing exercises with an instructor will be held.
After breakfast, you can enjoy the outdoor heated pool. Water temperature is up to 23 °C. If you wish, soft drinks and fruits will be brought to the pool. On the pier there will be organized fishing and jet skiing with the instructor. All necessary equipment will be provided — fishing tackles, wetsuits and vests.
In the fireplace hall will be a tea ceremony with tasting of Siberian honey, jam from taiga berries and fir cones.
Cooking of detox and vitamins cocktails. There is a separate area with Thai foot massage and manicure.
In the evening, one of the best Russian bath attendants, Gennady Nikolaev, will work with you. In addition to steaming, he will prepare cosmetic compositions for face peeling, hair masks and body scrubs. Cosmetics are made on the basis of Baikal water, Siberian herbs and berries. Also, the massage therapist will work in banya.
There will be scented candles and peasant background music in the closed rooms. At the dinner we will organize wine and cheese tasting from the Baikal cheese factory.
The day starts with breakfast at dawn, you will have porridge with taiga berries, hot pastry and freshly brewed coffee. After that, you will go by a speedboat and cross to the opposite shore of Lake Baikal. There the airboat will wait for you, which will climb you up the river and you will start a walk to the wild mountain lakes. While you are taking pictures and swimming, the guides will cook lunch on the fire. In the evening you will reach civilization, stay in the hotel and have dinner in the restaurant.
Lakes Sobolinie are located in the gorge of the Snezhnaya River, 25 kilometers from Baikal and surrounded by peaks of the Khamar-Daban mountain range. The length of the lakes is three kilometers, the depth is up to fifty meters. In this area there are blueberries, raspberries, currants, cranberries and mushrooms. During the year, this place is visited by no more than 500 people. With a probability of 99%, you will not find any tourist here.
The road to the lakes takes 2–2.5 hours with several stops for rest and photography. The trail does not require special physical training, but it is better to be in good shape to walk with a pleasure.
You will go along the gorge along the Snezhnaya River. The length of the path is five kilometers. The first half of the way is almost flat, with rare steep descents and ascents. The second half is more difficult — stones, roots, descents and ascents come across more often.
On this day there is a time limit. It is necessary to go down by the airboat along the river before dark. If you do not reach the Lakes Sobolinie at the appointed time, a picnic lunch is organized in the current location. It's ok, it's beautiful everywhere.
Park-Hotel Beliy Sobol is the best ski hotel in the regions of Russia in 2015. On the territory of the hotel there are 4 cottages, a building with hotel rooms, a two-storey restaurant, a banya, summer houses with a barbecue area and a laundry.
The hotel is located 134 km from Irkutsk, at the foot of Sobolinaya Mountain, where a ski resort works in winter. The distance to the shore of Lake Baikal is 2 km. The hotel has five categories of rooms: "standard", "junior suite", "studio", "apartments" and accommodation in a separate two-storey cottage. The area of the rooms is from 12 to 35 m2.

In the morning, prepared SUVs will drive you up the Mountain Mamai. After overcoming climbs, fords, and mud, you will reach a ski village. A huntsman will meet you, who will show you the nature of the mountain gorge and different winter huts. The chef will cook a Bavarian lunch and pour beer from the Baikal brewery. You will spend the night in the wild taiga, watching the starry sky through the windows of a modern cottage.
Mamai is the Mecca of mountain skiers and snowmobilers around the world. The gorge looks like a small village of huts. In summer and autumn everything resembles alpine meadows there, and the air is so full of aromas of herbs and flowers that you want to eat it with a spoon. Today, Mamai is present in 50% of our programs on Lake Baikal.
We use all-wheel drive SUVs to storm Mamai Mountain. Cars are equipped with: reinforced suspension, mud rubber, power bumpers, winches, walkie-talkies.
The length of the path is 12 kilometers, one half goes through the forest, another half is a steep rocky climb, with several fords. If in the process of climbing somebody will feel bad, you can go on foot. On average, the climb takes one and a half hours without stopping. If it rained before the arrival, the driving time could increase to 2–2.5 hours.
When you arrive a guardian will meet you and introduce you the terrain and life of the gorge.
We will deliver in advance to the Mamai Mountain chefs, kitchen equipment and products. The chef will cook according to the menu agreed with you in advance. Usually we set up several professional grills outside, where guests together with the chef prepare meat and home sausages for the beer. Also, we will bring a collection of different types of homemade samogon and a barrel of beer from the Baikal brewery.
On the territory of the gorge there is only one comfortable cottage. During your stay at Mamai we rent it so that you have the opportunity to spend the night in a comfortable environment. The cottage has a toilet, shower, kitchen, living room with TV and Internet.
After breakfast you will go down by SUVs from Mamai Mountain and visit the biosphere reserve. You will walk along the cedar alley, learn about the plants and animals that are found only in these places. You will walk along the mountain rivers, overcome several suspension bridges and see untouched nature. In the visitor center of the reserve you will see the exhibition dedicated to Baikal and feed the Barguzin sable. For lunch, in addition to various Siberian dishes, you will be served sour cream cheesecake with reserved blueberries. After that, you will have rest at the hotel and in the evening you will visit a cooking masterclass.
The Baikal Biosphere Reserve is a three-hour drive from Irkutsk, in the village of Tankhoy. Its main goal is to protect cedar forests, the area of which is comparable to the territory of Mauritius. The reserve is included in the world heritage list and is protected by UNESCO.
At the reserve there is a museum of nature and ethno town with a Buryat yurt and a Russian hut. On the first floor of the visitor center there is an interactive hall dedicated to Lake Baikal and its environmental protection. In a separate building there is an exposition telling about the history of the Circum-Baikal Railway, in the street there are restored railway carriages of tsarist times. Also, there is an enclosure with Baikal sable.
There are more than a thousand species of plants in the reserve, many of them are listed in the Red Book and are found only here.
Here you can meet: wild boar, roe deer, elk, sable, black kite and brown bear.
The director conducts a tour of the reserve. For three hours you will inspect the exhibition and feed the sable. After that you will walk along the cedar alley, which was built by volunteers from around the world. The path is lined with a board and a part is neatly cut down in the soil. On the way you will overcome several suspension bridges over a mountain river. After a walk you will have lunch on the second floor of the visitor center with a panoramic view of Lake Baikal.
"Siberian cheesecake", which you will be served as a dessert is a cake with reserved blueberries and homemade sour cream. It is baked by one local woman. The dough is airy and the sea of berries explodes in the mouth, the taste is amazing. If you like it the hostess will be happy to share the recipe.
In the morning you will be taken to the mineral water resort along the road with green meadows and running mountain rivers. The next two days you don't need to hurry, so you can sleep well. Here, on the sacred land for Buryats, surrounded by mountains and healing springs, you can walk as much as you like and attend wellness treatments. Start the day with a relaxing circular shower, warm up in a phyto-barrel during the day and go for a massage in the evening. In breaks, our chef will cook for you dishes from wild meat and bake desserts with a local berry.
Arshan is a resort village in Buryatia, two hundred kilometers from Irkutsk. It is known for mineral springs and mountain landscapes. In the village two sanatoriums have been built for the treatment of diseases of the digestive and respiratory organs: musculoskeletal, urinary, nervous and endocrine systems; metabolic disorders and skin diseases.
For treatment and prevention sulphide-silt mud and mineral waters of different composition and temperature are used. On the territory of the resort you can not only get complex treatment, but also to attend individual procedures. The most common are mineral baths and showers, hydro massage, mud applications, massage, inhalations, phytotherapy and therapeutic walking.
In addition to treatment, people come to Arshan just to stroll in the mountains, visit waterfalls and try Buryat food. Many Irkutsk people come for a weekend to drink and get cans of mineral water. Even in the village there is a small Buddhist datsan.
Tuyana is a hotel complex in the center of Arshan Resort. It is located in 210 km from Irkutsk on the bank of Kyngarga River. After a week of traveling to secluded places of Baikal, we will take you to Irkutsk. There will be a whole day to walk through the main streets with lacy merchant mansions. Here you will find cozy restaurants and noisy pubs, quiet streets and an embankment full of young people. If you wish, we will take you to the chocolate factory, where they make the best cedar roasting or show you how to cook local ice cream. We advise you to spend the evening in the art gallery, walking with a glass of wine past the works of Siberian artists and the world famous Buryat sculptor Dashi Namdakov.
Irkutsk is the sixth largest city in Siberia with a population of more than six hundred thousand people. It is located on the banks of Angara river, 70 km from Lake Baikal. Since the beginning of the 17th century, merchants conducted trade with China and mined gold. There was an office of the Russian-American Company — monopolist in fur trade in the East of Russia.
There were Chekhov, Fidel Castro, Indira Gandhi, Kim Ir Sen and Tsarevich Nicholas in Irkutsk. Here, the Decembrists served the penal servitude and Admiral Kolchak was shot. In the Irkutsk drama theater actors Leonid Bronevoy, Mikhail Svetin, Gleb Strizhenov and film director Leonid Gaidai worked.
You can spend a day walking through the main streets with historical buildings and the embankment, to drink coffee in the picturesque 130th quarter among the merchant estates. The city has many restaurants, cafes and pastry shops, there are modern shopping malls with brand stores. You should also go to the Angara Chocolate Factory and Angaria Ice Cream Factory. Among the cultural objects of interest is the gallery of Victor Bronstein there are works of the world famous Buryat sculptor Dashi Namdakov.
