The main in Altai

Lesotel is a restaurant 15 km from the airport, on the banks of the Katun River, surrounded by birches and pines. A two-story wooden building with two halls, a private area and a terrace with a view of the river and the foothills of the Altai.

In the menu there are dishes of Russian and European cuisine, cooked from local organic products: maral and roe deer meat, grayling, sturgeon and white mushrooms. Chefs cook Siberian dumplings, pancakes with red caviar and manti with duck meat. In the morning you can have breakfast with porridge, cottage cheesecakes or pancakes with Altai honey and jam.

Maryin Ostrov is an eco-hotel in the Chemal valley on the banks of the Katun River in the middle of green mountain slopes. The local air, the sample of which is stored in the “Reference Chamber” is saturated with aromas of pine needles, marshmallow, bagulnik and oregano. The resort is focused on improving and restoring peace of mind.

On the territory of the hotel there are three residential buildings, a wellness center, a restaurant, walking grounds, an outdoor swimming pool. In the exterior of residential buildings can be seen the features of an alpine chalet. The interior is made in light colors, the rooms are decorated with dark and light wood. There are eight categories of rooms available from standard to three-room apartments.

The apartments are equipped with: kitchen, fireplace room with living room and dining area, three bathrooms, as well as a separate room for 24-hour security. There is an outdoor terrace and an independent exit to the street.

Zvenyachy Kedr is a restaurant made of massive solid cedar on the territory of the Eco-Hotel Maryin Ostrov. Inside the log walls of the hall create a feeling of warmth and comfort. They are decorated with imitation of hunting trophies: wooden heads of bears, deer and wild boars. An outdoor terrace is available in warm weather.

In the menu there are traditional Altai dishes: baked or grilled maral meat, grayling and lamb. Here you can try homemade milk, sour cream and cottage cheese, honey from eco-hotel's own apiary and different varieties of tea from the Altai herbs. Also, in the menu there are dishes for children and dietary dishes.

Pyat Stykhiy is a hydrothermal complex on the territory of the Eco-Hotel Maryin Ostrov. It is equipped with a swimming pool with hydro and air massage, waterfall and counterflow system. It is filled with medical-table water from its own underground reservoir. It is also used for antler baths and balneotherapy.

For rejuvenation and recovery, a spa capsule with water massage and infrared treatments is used, as well as a phyto-barrel and bioresonance therapy. For the smoothness of the skin, the complex offers wraps with herbal infusions and algae. The wellness center of the hotel offers about fifty health and wellness procedures.

Rafting along the Katun River is a water route that starts at the mouth of the Edigan River. After the instructions and getting the equipment, the group sits in an inflatable raft. The first obstacle is waiting for a kilometer after the start — the 1st Teldekpensky threshold. At this point the river narrows and speeds up — rafting along a narrow rocky corridor with a width of 20 to 40 m. Then, after exploring the situation, the exit to the 2nd Teldekpensky threshold. Here the flow of water is even more powerful, but the shafts, whirlpools and other obstacles can be safely bypassed. Teldekpensky thresholds of the 4th category of complexity are one of the most difficult thresholds of Katun.

After a short break, overcoming the short threshold of the 2nd category — Biyskii. On the way, passing along the left bank of the seven rocks, sticking out of the water. In autumn they are clearly visible and they are not dangerous. Just before the finish you will pass the last, Elandinsky threshold of the third category of complexity.

Chuysky Tract is one of the most picturesque roads in the world. It stretches from Novosibirsk to the border with Mongolia. The road is laid along the rivers: Ursula, Katun and Chui, and almost everywhere is surrounded by mountains. Sometimes it comes very close to the water from one side and to the rocks from the other — such places are called bumps. The more southerly, the more often on the horizon will arise high mountains in snow caps.

Behind the district center of Shebalino there is the highest point of the Chuisky tract — the Seminsky Pass, where a stele is installed in honor of the 250th anniversary of Altai's accession to Russia. The second pass is Chike-Taman, with steep hills and descents. It is serpentine road in the rocks and every turn opens a view on the left behind the valley. At the top of the pass there is an observation platform with the best view.

Chulyshman is the valley formed as a result of the descent of the glacier. It got its name from the river of the same name, the main flow of the Teletskoye Lake. It is interesting with its view from the pass Katu-Yaryk, rock formations “Stone Mushrooms” and the largest waterfall in Altai — Uchar. Also it attracts the rafters with the fifth category of difficulty thresholds.

You can ride along a valley to the Teletskoye Lake by SUV on a gravel road. This takes two to three days. It is more convenient for a couple of hours to see the main attractions from a helicopter.

Urochiche Actra is an eco-hotel on the shore of Teletskoye Lake. The hotel buildings are located in a small populated area. Around it there are only ancient pines, cedars and mountain range. In four buildings there are rooms of solid cedar of three categories: “standard”, “junior suite” and “suite”. Rooms with balconies and terraces overlooking the lake. On the territory of the hotel there are summer houses and barbecue area.

A small restaurant with a fireplace, designed for thirty people. Panoramic windows offer a view of Lake Teletskoe. The menu offers European cuisine, as well as Altai delicacies: fried grayling, trout steak, maral steak. In the bar card there are only soft drinks: tea, coffee and fruit drinks.

Teletskoye Lake is the largest lake in Altai. Locals call it Altyn-Kol, which translated from Altai — “golden lake”. The maximum depth of the lake is equal to the height of the Eiffel Tower, and the length is the distance from Brussels to Bruges. It is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In the lake, there are fourteen species of fish, of which some are interesting for sports and amateur fishing: taimen, grayling, bream, uskuch and teletsky whitefish. Because of steep shores, fishing is more convenient by spinning from shore or boat. In winter, ice fishing is common here.

There is a waterfall on the Teletskoye Lake, which can be visited during a water walk. It is called Korbu and its height is equal to the five-story house. There is a comfortable wooden path which leads to it from the shore.
